Composer Nathan Wang Speaks at Rotary Club Luncheon

Oscar-winning composer highlights this week's Rotary Club luncheon at the Huntington Library.

of the will feature a talk by composer Nathan Wang, a native of Hong Kong, who won an Oscar (with Hans Zimmer) for his work on the score of the film The Last Days in 1999, according to the club's Rotoscope newsletter.

Wang has composed for TV shows and films, including China Beach, Fox’s Eek! the Cat, DreamWorks’ Toonsylvania and many Steven Spielberg projects, the newsletter reports.

NATHAN WANG, VERSATILE COMPOSER
NATHAN ATTENDED OXFORD UNIVERSITY IN 1980-1981 as an Ambassadorial Scholar. His family is from Hong Kong and China, and his mother, father, and wife will join us on Thursday, along with friends from Nathan’s Northeast Los Angeles Rotary where he served as president in 2007-2008 and where his grandfather had been a member. Nathan’s father was president of his Valley West Rotary in Utah the same year his son was president of NELA–a true Rotary legacy.
